"Crisis" One Point Off Lead at 1st Shark Regatta

The first Shark regatta of the season is this weekend in Toronto. The well-attended Trillium Regatta at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club off Toronto Island is one hot race. The regatta has a who's-who of Shark champions and top placers battling it out in the first major encounter of the season.

Jin Frati is there with Blue Shark. Paul Baehr brought Sudden Impulse. Both are top Sharkies of BYC. However, the big Montreal angle to this story has to be Crisis from PCYC, skippered by Tof Nicoll-Griffith, and crewed by Hugh Strudwick and Kai Nicoll-Griffith. In this fleet, so many boats are capable of winning a race that the key is consistency in the top ten. Crisis has placed 6th, and 3rd, in the 2 races held yesterday. This has put them in third place overall with 9 points. They are only one point behind Duck Soup and Bedlam who are tied with 8 points!

Racing concludes today. The next regatta on the Shark circuit will be here in Montreal with the Canadian championship being held at BYC on June 12th & 13th.
